Kandee Johnson Flower Ring

On the previous post I told you about who I have subscribed to on Youtube that do make-up tutorials. The first one I mentioned was Kandee Johnson. Apart from the her make-up skills, her subscribers love her jewellery. I am no different. I was actually one of the first to receive a replica of her Supreme necklace. Below is what it looks like, but I will tell you how you can get your very own. If you email at pinkyloco@ymail.com they will e mail back very quickly and let you know what you need to do. P.S. they are lovely :)

Here is another snapshot of Kandee at work.

Can you see the ring? Can you miss it, it is fabulous! Well, I was really excited to get ahold of one of these flower rings just like the one Kandee is wearing. I was so excited that I went back to the shop and got some more! If anyone would like to get their hands on one just drop an email at the following address and title the email 'Kandee Johnson Flower Ring'. I can then send you some more details. :) francescahindley@hotmail.com Oh, this is what they look like:

THE GURU'S *hears Indian temple/shrine music, or is that just me*

These are a few of the gang in my subscription box. I wonder if I can re-title this blog post as the 'seven wonders of make-up artistry'. Not so catchy really, but is a true statement!
In no specific order... Kandee Johnson. Make up artist based near Los Angeles. She is a TRUE make up artist. She does some excellent character tutorials. She really becomes the person that she is doing, so to speak. She is extremely versatile. Other things I really like is that she seems like like a really fun, likeable and thoroughly lovely person. The reason why I took this snap shot is that it is 'au naturel' but also I wanted to show the ring that Kandee has, the yellow flower ring. I have managed to get ahold of a few of them in different colours. Kandee has a huge following that like the different jewellery she wears. If anyone would like one I could send it to you. Info to follow... Oh, her channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson

Next... two fellow Brits. Sam and Nic who happen to be sisters and both make up artists. This is a snapshot of a make up look she was doing recreating the Audrey Hepburn look. Stunning I say.

Now here is her sister recreating a Pamela Anderson look. Again a fabulous look, and she kind of takes on the persona of the look she is trying to recreate.

The thing that I like about makeup is it's power to transform. Now come on admit it, everyone likes a good 'before and after' picture. Well, here is a shot of the before...

Maybe, not the most jaw dropping transformation because she has a great face to work with even without makeup. I could have taken much meaner shots, you know the ones that are mid blink and the media write headlines like 'they are really depressed and have now turned to drugs'. When in reality they are just waiting to open their eyes again! Well, I had to find the best shot, after all these are my cyber friends!
Here is another shot of her mid work. Ok, here is the make up geek in me. Her face is flawless and perfectly dewy. The colour choice and blending of the eye makeup really suits her eyes. Shimmery but not glitterball. I love it! If you want to see more of them in action http://www.youtube.com/user/pixiwoo

Ok, onwards... still staying in this country but with a twist. Wayne Goss is his name and make up is his game (well that was bad wasn't it!). This was a hard shot to get and sorry Wayne if you ever see this but I tried my best :)

What can I say about Wayne? Well, I think the first and foremost is he's male. (Yes, observant I know.) Now, he knows more about make up than cadbury's knows about chocolate! He gives a fabulously honest opinion and is one of the few guru's on you tube that is not sponsered or affiliated with any other company. Thus, complete honesty. He demonstrates looks in a simplisitic way by not overcomplicating techniques. Amongst the other guru's on you tube there are some that use a bucket load of different products for one look and as an on looker sometimes it makes you feel that you have to go out to your bank and ask for a loan in order to get the products suggested. Wayne, uses a few and achieves great results. Granted the products that he does use may be expensive but they are usually colours that will transfer to many other looks and seem to be core items in a make-up kit.
Oh, and at the end of every video he has a trademark *wink* that everyone has fallen for! I think that if he ever forgot to put the trademark wink at the end of a video there would be a public outcry! (well at least within the youtube community). You might be wanting this link ;)

Next...

This is Laura, doing what she does best and that is showing us what she has bought. Not only is she great at buying new things, she uses them and then most importantly tells us what she found with the product. Basically, she willtell us will it change our lives forever, or to give it a miss. Like Wayne, she is very honest and I actually really trust her judgement. It seems that as I have watched her, we have quite similar taste in colours and products. Or at least, what we expect from a product. She is British also, so it is good that if she recommends something it is usually not that big of a deal to get ahold of the product. Unlike when the American you tubers recommend a product and you can not get it here in the UK, or the company you can get it from does not ship internationally (or the shipping costs, cost more than the product itself!). Swings and roundabouts sometimes though. There is always good old ebay and amazon *phew*

Unfortunately though, Laura has seemed to retired from youtube so has not updated for 2 months now. Hopefully she will come of of retirement soon. Here is her address, just in case: http://www.youtube.com/user/lollipop26?ob=0#p/a/u/1/1hatpuJI8-o

Onto the next Brit (there seems to be a theme here... great make up artists)
Lisa Eldridge - make up artist to the stars!

Apart from her having a 'few' years of make up artistry under her belt which makes her techniques and product knowledge second to none. She is incredibly (for me) soothing and calming to watch. She always has great tips and gets to know about products months before they come out. So we know what to look out for. Who doesn't like a bit of inside knowledge!? I shudder to think about the size of her make up collection on one hand but would love to just take a look! Highly recommended, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/lisaeldridgedotcom

Alright last one, back across the 'pond' we have Michelle Phan. Now, I subscribed to her when she was doing really simple and inexpensive DIY tutorials but now this girl has her own line of cosmetic brushes, sunscreen and serums. Not to forget her massive deal with Lancome! She has been criticised of 'selling out'. But I suppose a girl has to eat, y'know!? Despite this, she still does very good tutorials and really edits her videos well. I have really learned a lot from her. She, like Lisa Eldridge has a soothing voice :) Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hvg80fTQ54

So there you have them the seven wonders of make up artistry! Happy viewing! x

Things I like...

Well, enough said really. I suppose it started about a year (ish) ago. I went to America with my husband who was working and I had to amuse myself. I had brought university work to do (bwahahaha, wishful thinking). The slippery slope started when I was doing a little research towards my business. Then one thing lead to another and there I am, watching makeup tutorials and subscribing to my favourites! This is where my (I wouldn't say obsession but) interest in makeup started. That is the collecting of it.
Women are always looking for the best cream to make them look younger, or the better eyeshadow to make their eyes 'pop'. (Whatever that means, but sound quite painful really!)
Long story short, I got sucked in and I look forward to looking in my subscriptions box to see which one of my make-up guru's have uploaded video's.
I have even considered doing video's myself because I do see a gap in the market for organic makeup and reviews. I may still do this but for now I blog about them and tell what I think about them and which is the best.

Randominity

...exactly my point!
Yes, it's been a while, I know but there you have it...in all of its' 6 months glory! I would like to say in that time I have done lots of things towards work and my education. But the fact is, I have not. My time has been filled with 'Life' and that is about that.
Well, bygones... this blog will be devoted to the eclectic but will probably hone in on beauty and lifestyle. So under those hefty brackets on with the show...

Well this is it! The first of many...? I hope so. I just thought I would kick-start this escapade now instead of waiting for the 'free-time' that will never really actually come. So, here you have it
..Miss Cheska. This is going to be an eclectic blog. So hold on to your hats ladies (and laddies!) Anyhoo... here we go. x
